Announcing the Launch of our Eco-Friendly Toothbrushes

Following on from last week’s exciting announcement of our new collection, KOHA Kids, this week we’re delighted to bring you news of our new range of eco-friendly toothbrushes.

Cleanliness is of huge importance to the team here at KOHA Beauty, but we know that if you’re also concerned about the environment, it can be hard to find products that are effective as well as ethical and sustainable. This is where our toothbrush collection comes in, ticking every box to make sure that you don’t need to make any sacrifices with an environmental beauty regime.

The toothbrushes, just £2.90 each for adults and £2.50 for children, are a welcome alternative to the ubiquitous plastic options available. They’re crafted from MOSO bamboo, which is panda-friendly and sustainable, and the feathered bristle tips are made from soft, BPA-free nylon, which is antibacterial and non-toxic, as well as being cruelty-free.

We’ve worked to create ergonomic, easy-to-use brushes that deliver an effective clean, whilst also being compostable and eco-friendly. The toothbrush and the packaging are both 100% recyclable too.

But how to get the most out of your toothbrush? We’ve got some top tips to make sure that your brushing technique is on point and that you’re getting the most thorough clean, every time you brush.

Make sure you’re brushing enough

Twice a day is the optimum frequency for brushing; first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. But even if you brush twice a day, are you brushing for long enough? Experts say you should brush for two minutes to make sure that the teeth and mouth have been properly cleaned.

Clean your brush between uses

Your toothbrush needs to stay clean and hygienic, this is imperative to good oral health. The nylon bristles on our toothbrushes are antibacterial which helps, but you should rinse your brush after each use and allow it to air dry. We recommend steering clear of brush covers, which can actually encourage the breeding of new bacteria.

Never share your brush!

It seems obvious, but we’re making it clear: to avoid the spreading of infection or germs, you should never share your toothbrush with anyone. Sharing might be caring, but not when it comes to your dental health!

Change your brush regularly

Our eco-friendly toothbrushes are proven to last just as long as their plastic alternatives, but the rules stay the same – you should update your toothbrush every three months to make sure that your teeth are getting a thorough clean. Mark it in your calendar or set yourself a reminder to make sure you commit to it, and keep spares in the bathroom so that you can switch to a fresh brush straightaway.

Don’t rinse after brushing your teeth!

Many people don’t realise that you shouldn’t rinse your mouth out with water or mouthwash after brushing, as it washes away all of the beneficial ingredients of your toothpaste, instead of leaving them to work on your teeth.

And there you have it – our top tips for making sure that your teeth stay clean and hygienic every time you brush, whilst you’re doing your bit for the environment too. We also make children’s versions of our toothbrushes too, so that you can teach your little ones from an early age all about dental health and sustainability too.
